Treasure Box
I recently made a “Treasure Box” for a friend - it’s a gift box, really, but I’m hoping she’ll use it to keep a special gift in - her Bible.

The box was made by covering a medium shoebox with crumped light blue tissue paper, allowing it to crinkle. I used several layers and if memory serves, three variations in the blue color. I also painted the inside with a constrasting blue, then used a crinklie holographic plastic piece as a liner. I decoupaged flowers from an old calendar and the butterfly on the lid and side, then lined them with gold and black pens. Stars were added, and a tag was made with a piece of lace, glitter, and another flower from the same source. The word “Treasures” was added with a calligraphy pen, and the tag was encased in a plastic tag holder (recycled - it had once held a magnet). The entire box was sprayed with three coats of matte acrylic finish.
