Pirates vs. Harry Potter? Out of Ur commentary
http://blog.christianitytoday.com/outofur/archives/2006/07/protesting_pira.html
The writer of Out of Ur in Leadership Weekly commented that Pirates of the Caribbean is perhaps as bad as Harry Potter because the Pirates use curses and there’s undead in the movie. Why aren’t Christians protesting Pirates?
Using rather faulty logic, IMHO, he then paints a rosy picture of both - even portraying Harry and company as heroes.
Since when does a “bad” movie, by association, make a second “bad” movie somehow good? Maybe because I’ve only had one cup of coffee so far this morning, I’m mis-reading something. I’ll go back later and re-read to be sure.
I did leave a comment that Harry and his friends lie, cheat, break the rules and silently accept praise - some heroes! Plus the Wizardology fall-out. Nasty book, that.
Will do a writeup on ExWitch later.
