STILL battling the flu
At present, I feel like this battle with the flu is a battle. Barbara and I have been sick for something like 2 weeks now. (Barbara is Pastor Danny’s wife). Several other folks in our church have been quite sick also. It seems to just go from person to person to person (but it doesn’t seem to ever LEAVE).
It’s particularly a miserable flu because I’ve gotten to feeling “almost better” at least 3 times - comparitively speaking of course; I still was coughing, sneezing, and had a sore throat - just wasn’t praying for God to please kill me and get it over with. Saturday, I was feeling pretty good. Then Ken fell and busted up his knee and wrist, so I drove him up to the ER for xrays (nothing broken but he’s pretty sore). When we left at 2, I felt pretty good. By 4, I was sicker than the day I spent at home in bed a week ago. I was so tired I couldn’t hold up my head, was coughing like crazy, and my throat hurt to the point I could barely swallow. Ken insisted I be seen, and the triage nurse concurred. The doc did a rapid strep test (negative) and pronounced it viral - which means there’s nothing to do medically - I’ve just got to continue to pray for God to heal me of it.
I ended up spending yesterday in bed, alternately sleeping and reading. Today I’m back in the church office because I really need to be; and also because if I start feeling worse, Pastor’ll understand and I can go home.
Pray for me, eh?
