Dogfighting is “barbaric” - abortion’s just fine
A recent report on FoxNews quotes Senator Byrd (D-WV) as saying,
“Barbaric!,” he yelled. “Let that word resounding from hill to hill, and from mountain to mountain, and valley to valley across the broad land. Barbaric! Barbaric! May God help those poor souls who’d be so cruel. Barbaric! Hear me! Barbaric!”
Was Senator Byrd referring to the cold-blooded slaughter of over 40 million Americans?
No.
Was he referring to the murder of anyone?
No.
Senator Byrd was outraged about dog-fighting.
Don’t get me wrong… dog-fighting is brutal, barbaric, sadistic, and truly awful (if you’ve never seen a “professional” dog fight … ugh. it’s one of the nastiest things that people can do to animals. It should indeed be aggressively punished.)
It’s wrong to execute a dog. Sure. But Byrd’s speeches and voting record shows that he thinks its perfectly all right to execute PEOPLE. In that same speech quoted above, he advocates the execution of people involved in dog-fighting. Yet he’s done nothing to stop abortion. He refused to declare unborn babies to be murder victims if they die as the result of a crime (for example, if a pregnant mother is killed, that’s two murders. Two lives lost. Not just one. But not according to Byrd.) He’ll gloatingly execute the murderer of a dog, but the “doctors” who cut babies into little pieces and suction them out of the mother’s womb… they’re just fine.
Priorities? Not coming out of West Virginia, to be sure.
Abortion is homicide. Period.
