…and by His stripes we are healed. (Is. 53:5)

Kathi Sharpe

I'm a church planter, missionary, freelance writer, web designer, and laid-down lover of Jesus from Level Cross, NC. I'm married with 3 wonderful grown children. We're currently planting a church and planning a missions trip back to Jamaica. I couldn't ask for a better life!

I write about Jesus, the Bible, revival, healing, the power of God, faith, and related topics. I throw in occasional recipes, home-making tips, news and politics items, and all sorts of random things just for fun.

So in 24 hours…

We’ll be on the road (and the rails) making our way to Lakeland, Florida to drop the baby girl off at college.

I have to admit I’m having a time with this. On the one hand, she’s ready (she’s become little miss independent) — I think she’s going to do just fine both socially and academically despite the age difference. On the other hand, she’s my BABY in spite of being nearly all grown up!

I know I’ll deal, and I’m looking forward to what Ken’s calling “a new chapter in the book”…

:::sniff:::

So our plans are to leave here early, drive up to DC and spend the day (Torn between seeing the Capitol and the Air/Space museum). We’ll spend the night at the cheapest hotel we can find, and then Weds. AM we’ll board the Auto Train. Thurs AM we’ll be in Florida. Yes - it’s a lot longer trip than driving. But it’s probably cheaper (except the night in DC part - that’s extra) and it’s definitely a more relaxing way to travel!

Friday and Monday we’ll probably hit the beach. Saturday and Sunday will be all-day events at the college. Tuesday morning, we head back home!

We’ve already sat the dogs down and explained things to them. Lucy may be bigger than a human baby but she’s just SO much a baby it’s not funny! She looked very sad when we told her that Kayti was going away, and that we were going on vacation and she’d have to protect the house and let Roger in to feed her and take her out. Daisy looked wise when we told her she’d have to take care of the cats (Daisy does this job quite well while we’re gone, in spite of being smaller than any of the cats!)

I do have to say we’ve got the BEST neighbors in the whole world… we can go away on a trip and rest easy that the house and animals are taken care of!

So today, I’ve got to do lots of running around… I’m taking Bobby to get his driver’s license this morning, we’ll probably have lunch and then he has to see the doctor (pray for him, please - at 18 years old he’s got high Blood Pressure!) Then I drop him off @ his new job, I’ll meet up with Kayti and we’ll go so she can say goodbye to Grandma. Somewhere in here I need to fit in a WalMart run for trip essentials, a stop to Sbux to pick up my tips, and a stop @ the new drugstore because the one we’ve used for years has messed up our prescriptions (AGAIN) and is saying (AGAIN) that it’s the doctor’s fault. I’ve had it, so I’m going to get the doc to write all new scrips and I’m taking my biz elsewhere. THEN we’re going to have pizza, come home and fix the hot water heater, set the house up for animal comfort, sleep a little, and leave!

Yipes.
