Racism stinks
Jesse Jackson is quoted in FoxNews as saying that Barack Obama is “acting like he’s white,” apparently for not speaking out enough about what happened at Jena (students were involved in a series of racially-motivated fights; only the black students were charged with crimes and those charges may have been grandly inflated, if what is reported in the press is true - Here’s the wikipedia entry for Jena Six). Jackson conveniently doesn’t remember making the remark - but he’s not denying it either.
Ummmm. Excuse me Mr. Jackson. If I (a white woman) was to say “So and so is acting black” you’d be all over me screaming that I’m a racist. Racial equality MUST work in both directions. Just as no one should stereotype black people, you should not stereotype white people either (I assure you as a white person I have very little in common with Senator Obama or for that matter, Senator Clinton & any of the other democratic/liberal candidates… for you to characterize Senator Obama as “acting like he’s white” should mean he’s acting like me. That would be nice, but I’m not seeing the Senator becoming an uberconservative republican Pentecostal follower of Christ any time soon. So please don’t say he’s “acting white” - he’s acting like what he is, a liberal Senator who’s running for Prez who happens to be a black man who has an opinion different from yours. (which is really what the whole problem amounts to, isn’t it? Where will it end once and for all?)

“uberconservative republican Pentecostal follower of Christ any time soon”
And I hope and pray he doesn’t!
