…and by His stripes we are healed. (Is. 53:5)

Friday’s Feast

TGIF!

Appetizer: What is your favorite type of art?
I love collage/mixed media art that has hidden (and not so hidden) meanings - not art for the sake of art, but art for a purpose.

Soup: When was the last time you got a free lunch (or breakfast or dinner)? Who paid for it?

Um. TNSTAAFL… heh. Even the “free” meals I’ve enjoyed @ hotels haven’t been “free” and that’s about all the freebies I’ve gotten lately. Ken had a free lunch yesterday, though - he and Pastor Albert went out for lunch and PA picked up the tab. Ken will next time. Nice :)

Salad: On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how emotional are you?

Depends on the day. Or the hour. I’ve been accused of being cold and distant, and of being overly emotional, all in the same day. I really try not to be emotion-driven but I don’t want to be utterly rational either.

Main Course: Approximately how long do you spend each day responding to emails?

Not long enough; I still have mail to respond to from over a month ago.

Dessert: To what temperature do you usually set your home’s thermostat?

If I’m here alone, I either turn it off or I set it to about 76. If Ken’s here it goes down to about 70. (summer… wintertime I set it at about 72 unless it’s REALLY cold out. I think this winter we’re going to try to go thermostat-less and burn lots of wood in the FP)

Hi Kathi- A stranger writing back to you … :) Thanks so much for your comment on my blog today. I wasn’t sure where to respond, so this clearly has nothing to do with your most recent post. Anyway, I appreciated your words, and especially the word(s) you were given, a word that I will most definitely cling to. My/our “back story” — I could write a book (and indeed, have been encouraged to do so by many) — basically encountered a tremendous amount of evil within “the church” and we had no choice but to get out (for now, at least). You can get a better idea in some of my earliest posts when I first got into blogging, trying to make sense of this journey on which God has lead me. I was instantly intrigued that you’re a church planter — that was a dream of my husband’s for many years, but unfortunately his bishop didn’t share that call (hmmm …), and now he’s so beaten up that, for now, he wants nothing to do with the church. It’s tragic, sad, devastating … Your prayers are MUCH appreciated, as are your spiritual gifts. I love how God works. I’ll check in again …

    :D I’m ba-a-a-a-ack. ack. heh.

Just checking on ya. We’re home-schooling again this year. Be afraid. Be very afraid. In October we’re going down to Nashville to see my sissy — and may get to see Brian and his fam, too.

Appetizer: What is your favorite type of art? Probably functional art — like jewelry which is my latest fav.

Soup: Free lunch? No such thing.

Salad: Probably a 3. My skin has really thickened up more these past few.

Main course: e-mails? About …. 1/2 hour or less, but it depends on the day.

Desert: Temp at home is usually about 70-72. Summer it’s set cooler than winter.
