Another “you’ve got to wonder” news story

Yes, everyone’s innocent until proven guilty. Absolutely.

In this news story, though, you’ve just got to wonder about the mind of the defense attorney. His client is accused of drunk driving. Reports say he flew through a traffic light and into a taxi, killing the passenger and the cabbie’s unborn baby.

The attorney is seeking to keep the blood test results from the jury, though. Why? Insufficient probable cause. Witnesses smelling alcohol’s not enough. The cops should have done field sobriety tests, he says. Nevermind that the EMT’s had the guy strapped to a backboard and were hauling him off to the hospital because he’d BROKEN BOTH ANKLES and ruptured his spleen.

Can you see the officer asking a man with both ankles, “Please walk the line, sir…”

Ummmm…

I think the attorney needs a different angle on this one…

I can just see this on the comedy channel or Jay Leno or something… really.
