“Town Meeting” - urgh.
OK, I just have to say this.
Town Meeting is a notion peculiar to New England; it’s held in the beginning of March each year, presided over by a moderator, and it’s held so that the town can conduct its business. The entire town is allowed to vote on the budget, discuss and stew over major decisions, and vote in new people to run the town.
It’s like getting a big family together to have a friendly political discussion, complete with coffee, donuts, and pies made by the Ladies Auxilliary.
A town meeting is NOT a meeting with a politician where select people can express their viewpoints and hear said politician’s view.
