…and by His stripes we are healed. (Is. 53:5)

Kathi Sharpe

I'm a church planter, missionary, freelance writer, web designer, and Jesus lover from Level Cross, NC. I'm married with 3 wonderful grown children. We're currently planting a church and planning a missions trip back to Jamaica. I couldn't ask for a better life!

I write about Jesus, the Bible, revival, healing, the power of God, faith, and related topics. I throw in occasional recipes, home-making tips, news and politics items, and all sorts of random things just for fun.

Black Friday

With regards to yesterday…  after listening to it all on the news/radio/web/etc. ALL DAY… I just have to say….

WANDA! LOOK! THERE’S SHOPPERS AT THE MALL! WOW! HOW UNPREDICTABLE!

I must confess that we DID get out in it (for the first time ever) … ONLY because we were visiting my parents, and there is an Old Time Pottery there. It’s like Waccamaw used to be, according to my husband… sort of like Garden Ridge but VERY VERY inexpensive. Yes, must watch for quality, but we got some GREAT buys and finished shopping for 3 people for under $100…  can’t beat that!

We also stopped @ the 17th St. Walgreens on the way back thru and discovered, to our absolute delight, that they now offer inkjet printer refills, while you wait, for $10black and $15 color. I nearly fainted because my cartridges cost upwards of $30 each at Cartridge World (also refills).

We did have a wonderful Thanksgiving… got up late, ate breakfast late, and drove down to the beach. We have a ritualistic way of visiting the island, really - each time we go, we drive out to the very end of Ft. Fisher and turn around. Then we go back to one of the two Fort Fisher beaches and hang for a while. Then we drive to Kure Beach Pier. Then to Carolina Beach. (We are really talking about just a few miles of sand, but glorious miles they are!)

This time we did a slight detour… drove up to the Food Lion and bought lunch (McD’s being closed due to Thanksgiving!)… we took sandwiches out to the north end of Carolina Beach and ate in the sand, watching the waves come in.

Then we drove up to Wrightsville, but didn’t get out to the beach there because Bobby had a slight mishap with his car and we got distracted, then we tried to find a bathroom and apparently Wrightsville doesn’t have any and we ended up back on the mainland and said “phooey!” … so we drove down to the Wilmington Riverwalk and walked along the Cape Fear for a ways. We were getting pretty tired, and Mom was busy cooking turkey, so we went back and stuffed ourselves on turkey, stuffin’, squash rolls, and homemade apple pie.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Thank You, Lord, for the many blessings you’ve given to us!
