Never fear - Big Brother is Here
In Russia, the state controls the heat (it doesn’t come on until late in the year, even in Siberia!).
In California, the state wants control over your home’s temperature. Apparently consumers would be able to over-ride the government’s control except in times of “crisis”.
How about just bringing the power grid into the 20th century instead? (21st would be nice, but we ought not ask too much) Our nation’s power supply is designed for a few less gazillion people than we’ve got… fix it, instead of subjecting the populace to growing governmental control. Else we’ll all soon be saying, da, comrade!
