So why am I blogging so much today?
We should be in church over at Acts Temple this morning, then we should be enjoying dinner with Mother Louise and Leon, and then we should be going to Raleigh where Tim and Rochelle are ministering.
Instead, we have the flu.
We’ve dealt with a week of a stomach bug and feeling blicky… and had just started to feel well again. Yesterday we went to Wally World around lunchtime and I started feeling ill as we walked around the store. We had to go to Mother Louise’s and while I sat in her kitchen I started to feel SO bad that we quickly left to come home and go to bed. By 4, we both felt bad enough to high-tail it to the doctor. She said, “yup, definitely influenza” and put us on tamiflu, chicken soup, and bed rest - with absolutely no contact with people.
When we first woke up this morning, I thought surely the doctor was wrong. I felt pretty good. That lasted about five minutes. All it took was me sitting up for the “good” to wear off. I’ve been drinking lots of fluids and I just had some chicken soup. Taking meds for the cough and body aches.
The biggest problem we’ve got is dizziness. Even curled up here in bed, it feels like my head is circling one way and the bed, the other. And my lungs hurt. Have you ever been swimming, and got water up your nose and all the way into your lungs? It’s like that, but worse.
Hopefully with the tamiflu, we won’t get REALLY sick. Last time I had the flu, I was a very long time getting well again.
