This flu is for the birds.
No, not bird flu. Just plain ol’ regular flu. I thank God that we got to the doctors so quickly and started on the tamiflu… else we’d be a whole lot sicker.
Speaking of tamiflu, I’ve had what MAY be a weird side effect of the drug. As expected, it makes both of us a little dizzy and a little nauseous - which really might be something from the virus rather than the drug. But in me… well, I have the strangest taste in my mouth. Sort of like you’d expect if you’d chewed up a percoset ::makes face:: Nothing makes it go away - not even a candy bar.
So, I visited the tamiflu website to see if it was a known side effect. It wasn’t listed, so I followed the link to email them. I got the nicest letter back from Roche (the drug company)… in just a couple of hours! I was so shocked I nearly fell over. They’d never heard of this and encouraged me to talk to my doctor (which I will if it gets worse), and told me they’d passed my concern on to quality control and the drug safety department - just in case there’s something more going on.
I thought that was quite nice!!
