Snatched Away?
Someone who read my blog about the once saved, always saved issue commented that it’s impossible for anyone to snatch you out of the hand of Christ.
I agree. You, dear reader, cannot come and snatch me from His hand. However, I am perfectly free to leave.
Picture, for a moment, a hand upon which a butterfly has landed. The hand cannot “hold” the butterfly, as it is a fragile and delicate creature. The other hand can, of course, keep it safe. Yet it can fly away at any moment. What will happen if it flies? Will the hand reach out to grab it from mid-air and crush it? Does the hand reach for a net, to trap the butterfly? No. The hand waits patiently for the butterfly to return.
Like all analogies drawn by humans, this one breaks down too… but it’s a good visual for what I’m trying to say.

” Will the hand reach out to grab it from mid-air and crush it?”
Of course not! Crushing it would take a fraction of a second, not enough suffering for that disobedient butterfly!
It’s gotta BURN! How dare that butterfly disobey!

Ummmm no… more like a moth to a flame… they fly willingly into it.

And once again…who created the flame in the first place?

Indeed…
The flames weren’t made for the moths. They were made for the cat who stalks the moth. (I draw the analogy to cats because I have a bunch of ‘em and they love moths as much as they do mice!)
The moths have a safe light to land on and a roadmap to it…

“The flames weren’t made for the moths. They were made for the cat who stalks the moth.”
And if the moth & cat (Nazis & Jews, etc.) both end up in the flame well there you go…
