Rant on behalf of people that Jesus loves
I need to rant for a moment on behalf of people that Jesus loves … but much of the church hates. I’ve just heard from yet another ex-pagan who has gone from church to church in her city, and at nearly every one she is despised and rejected. I’ve heard from others (and seen it!) who are poor by the world’s standards. They don’t have nice clothes and can’t put a lot of money in the plate. They’re not welcome at certain churches either.
What is the church? A country club, where only the elite can hobnob?
Some people have a terrible, rude awakening coming to them… see Matthew 25.

With all that I wonder how long she’ll be a Christian? Seems like a lot of Christians are the first to shoot their wounded.

I don’t disagree with you.
Jesus said that the world would know us by our love for each other.
But then He also said that there would be many who did glorious things - even supernatural things - in His name, calling Him Lord, Lord… and He’s going to say to them, “Away with you, I never knew you.”
it SHOULD be a sobering thing for the church to consider. But I’d wager that most people have never even read it for themselves in their own Bibles.

I find the above very interesting. Glorious things, even supernatural things - exactly how are they doing these things? With God’s power - or Satan’s? I can’t really see God giving that power to people that He’s going to say “Away with you, etc.” - or would He?

That’s a question I don’t have an answer to. (Surprised? hehehe)
I’m thinking this: God knows the hearts of men. He knows that if Joe walks up to Sam and prays for him and a miracle happens, Sam’s heart will change (or not) because of it. He likewise knows what will happen if Joe prays for Sam and nothing happens. God ALSO knows what will happen in the hearts of those watching.
This may explain why some people are healed - even at the hands of a WoF preacher in a $10000 suit, whose lifestyle mocks God - and why others are not (perhaps even in the ministry of that same preacher).
It’s just a theory.
It’s also possible that people are moving under satanic influence. he’s a good mimic of the things of God, but he’s limited.
