My brother’s keeper

Someone (Rev, I think) posted a comment about being his brother’s keeper…

I agree that we should be our brother’s keepers… we should watch out for one another with love. I do not see any biblical basis for “keeper” being “judge” (let alone jury and executioner!) however.

Thoughts?

Now let me wade in here. If I see a snake crawling, I am one that will not wait around to find out if it is one that will kill or just harmless as the grass its in, is that judging the snake or being one who knows a snake is a snake

Hmm. We are called to admonish the sinner and correct those in error. Correction, I think, is a matter of personal judgement, but we really need to be careful about how we approach it, especially if the person we’re correcting is a pastor. There’s a fine line between judgement and correction, though…
