This is disgusting.
FoxNews is reporting that a “fundamentalist church” will be protesting the funeral of the pregnant Ft. Bragg soldier who was recently murdered. They’re speaking, of course, of the Westboro “Baptist Church” (who are neither baptist, nor God’s church)… the folks who protest military funerals saying that God is exacting punishment on America for tolerating gays and lesbians.
I’m disgusted, first and foremost, by the actions of this hate group.
I’m disgusted, secondly, by the fact that the heresy hunters will attack a move of God and leave these heretics alone. What if the church truly dealt with them? Hmmm?
I’m disgusted, lastly, that FoxNews and others continue to use the term “fundamentalist” to describe these folks. They’re no more fundamentalists than they are turnips.
I fear for these people… they need Jesus.

Now we finally agree on something Kathi. They need to stop this before it goes any farther. this young woman was in service to her country and for them to protesting is not of any church I would associate with.

Aside from praying for them, what would you suggest be done, Rev?
The problem with much anything that could be done with legislation, could also be turned against believers.

Do it by mans law. Did they get a permit to protest. they will site the first amendment of course. A counter protest might be nice, but might get ugly. If they plan on being on the route to the cementary, change the route and don’t let them know about it. We can always pray for them, but doubt it would do any good, as if they are ignorant enough to protest a fallen soldier they are more ignorant than we might believe. Pray for their salvation. Pray it rains so hard they can’t be outside, but not raining at the cemetary. To say that they are doing it in protest for lesibans and gays they are not doing it for that, they are doing it to be seen of man, not of God.

Rev, the problem with the getting a permit thing is that sure, we want to ensure they don’t get one. However, we don’t want to get turned down for a permit for, say, a pro-life protest or a baptism at a public park’s lake.
The same law could be twisted either way.
Don’t say that it won’t do good to pray for them. Someone prayed for me daily for five years, for me to come to know the Truth…
