prayer request from me - rocky mountain spotted fever
I haven’t said much online about not feeling well (whine, whine, yanno?) but I’ve been sick for about a week now. Started off dizzy and headachey, and it’s grown to aching all over worse and worse, splitting headache, can’t stand light, and now, a rash and congestion. Have had 4 tick bites in the last 2 weeks. My brain finally caught up to my pain last night after I saw the spots and I said, [i]Gee, I’ve felt this way before[/i]. 10 years ago, I had rocky mtn spotted fever and this is how my joints and muscles felt.
So, after Lcash pointed out that I wasn’t making much sense earlier (not sure he realized he was doing that, but he did - thanks brother!), I took myself to the doctor. Didn’t say a word about ticks - wanted him to make his own mind up without prompting. All he did is look at my symptom list the nurse gave him and he said it was RMSF. Then he examined me and kept saying, “yep, that confirms it. That confirms it. Yep, that’s definitely what you’ve got.”
So, he told me to go to bed and take lots of doxycycline and darvocet (something I’ve never taken before). I’m already feeling it a little bit :blink: So I may not be online much over the next few days as this works its way out of my system… lest I make less sense than ever.
