Billboard: Don’t Vote for a Democrat

FoxNews always proves to be an entertaining mid-afternoon read. Here’s an article about a Florida businessman who’s bought up billboard space with pictures of the falling World Trade Center and the caption, “Please Don’t Vote for a Democrat.”

Personally, I’d leave off on the WTC imagery. Everybody with any sense knows Osama will be ecstatic about Obama.

My billboard would have a picture of an aborted baby on it instead.

I did get a kick out of the last line of the FoxNews article: ‘One billboard up in Mandville, La., reads: “A taxpayer voting for Barack Obama is like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders.”’

My billboard would have flag-draped coffins superimposed over a map of Iraq with the message “Please don’t vote for a Republican.”

There’s a big difference there, Dave. Those young men and women signed on the dotted line and volunteered to fight for our country. They didn’t have to do it.

An unborn baby doesn’t have that luxury… why doesn’t the baby get to choose whether to live or die?

“Those young men and women signed on the dotted line and volunteered to fight for our country. They didn’t have to do it.”

Quite correct; and George W. Bush didn’t have to invade Iraq - a country that had nothing to do with the 9-11 attacks.

And would it make a difference if they hadn’t volunteered? Say they had been drafted.

  4. Kathi Says:

No, he didn’t HAVE to invade Iraq. He could’ve left the modern equiv. of Hitler in place. I firmly believe that we were right to go into Iraq.

The issue at hand has nothing to do with the draft. But let’s say, for the sake of argument, that this was a wholly unjust war and that all of the troops were drafted. They are adults. They are capable of self-defense. They are even capable of desertion, if it came down to it.

A pre-born baby cannot pick up a weapon to defend itself. A pre-born baby cannot desert.

It amounts to a war against the unborn…

Ichabod, we hear so much about Iraq and Bush didn’t have to attack, but lets remember at the time Congress was behind him so lets go with all the Senators and House of Representives who okay it to be done. As for draft or no draft, when someone goes into the military they know the dangers of war. I didn’t get drafted but ended up in Nam anyways and I can assure you I didn’t run to the man and say please send me to Nam. then we had this woman running Bush down for her son dying there and he volunteered to go back, he re-enlisted and aske to go back to be with his buddies, but his mom who we found out didn’t have much to do in his life anyways makes a scene and to me that was disgracing the young mans memory. Iraq was invaded under the point of weapons of mass distruction. Now I tell the world that Kathi has something of real interest in her home and we will find it. Now if Kathi knows this and doesn’t want us to find it, she might ship it out or put it someplace other than her home. We say she has the biggest amount of good columbia coffee, and we want it at all cost. Why keep in her home and wait to get it gone. Store it someplace else. Like Irag might just have shipped the Weapons of Distruction to Syria or Iran. Neither of them like us, matter of fact most nations don’t until they need are forces to bail them out. Point is, there is no draft, and most of the young men going in were not even born before the drafted ended. In most countries it is an honor to serve your country, in some its manditory to give at least two years. Kathi, your assesment of the unborn is good

Can it be Jamaican or Panamanian, instead of Columbian Rev?

This girl’s got better taste than that…

  7. Rev Frederick G Merry Says:

hey what ever is good for you. I had a young man from our church come back from Domican Republic and brought us some coffee. I have to try it soon

  8. Kathi Says:

    mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I adore Latin American/Caribbean coffees. For some reason, though, just about every Columbian coffee I’ve tried has tasted over-roasted.

  9. Rev Frederick G Merry Says:

I guess Juan Valdez over did it.

  10. Ichabod Says:

“No, he didn’t HAVE to invade Iraq. He could’ve left the modern equiv. of Hitler in place. I firmly believe that we were right to go into Iraq.”

What about North Korea? Syria? Iran? Why aren’t we in Zimbabwe? The Sudan? All countries who have very nasty governments/leaders. Is our army going to be the policeman of the world?

  11. Kathi Says:

I don’t have an easy answer to it, Dave. I wish there was one. If we were to go to war on all fronts, we’d lose in the same way as (ironically) Hitler did, by spreading the army too thin.

I do believe it’s likely we’ll be in Iran soon… or, if Obama becomes president, perhaps he’ll help them bomb Israel.

  12. Ichabod Says:

“He could’ve left the modern equiv. of Hitler in place.”

Tongue firmly in cheek - Why, don’t you know Hitler was a poor, misunderstood man? If we’d let him have Eastern Europe there wouldn’t have been a second world war. Pat Buchanan will tell you that.
