Nothing but the Blood - Tree 63
Was just listening to a song by Tree 63 called “Nothing But The Blood” - good stuff:
Your blood
speaks a better word
than all the empty claims
I’ve heard upon this earth
speaks righteousness for me
it stands in my defense
Jesus it’s Your blood
I’ve got a pretty good list of songs going as I clean house -
- Agnus Dei
- Revelation Song
- Beautiful One
- Son of God (by Hillsong)
- I stand in awe of You
- Your Name
- As the Deer
- We will dance
- I will run - Misty Edwards

- You won’t relent - another one by Misty
- Amazing Grace - My Chains are gone
- How Great is Our God

Kathi - ever heard any DC Talk or tobymac? They’ve been around for a while but I only just discovered them yesterday. I’ll email you some Youtube links.

Yup! I like the older DC Talk songs… Toby’s ok, but his music is SO overplayed on the radio… it’s like every 10th song they repeat his hits… I like most of his stuff, but it’s gotten old, you know?
Mostly these days, I like music that sings TO the Lord in worship and adoration, more than music that’s about Him. A lot of times I’ll change lyrics as I sing so that a song about becomes a song TO… if that makes sense. Like this:
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!
becomes
Jesus Jesus how I trust You, how I’ve proved You o’er and o’er
Jesus Jesus precious Jesus!
O for grace, to trust You more!
some songs become prayer… some prayers become songs… sometimes I get so overjoyed in His presence I am quite literally overcome…

Hey Kathy,
that song “Nothing But the Blood” is originally by Matt Redman…it’s on his CD “Facedown”. A lot of songs I’ve heard in the last few years, especially during the Lakeland revival. have been around for a while, I’m just catching up!
