How did John know?
So this might rank as a colossally dumb question. Or a blonde moment.
But if what Bud says is true - that Jesus saying, “Folks will say I’m here or there, don’t believe them”… then shouldn’t we toss out the book of Revelation?
::frowns:: I don’t recall Him saying, “I’ll show up just once, that one you can believe…”
Somehow I don’t think THAT’S right!

Kathi, it’s a testimony to your enduring patience that you keep putting up with all this silly pettifoggery and choplogic.
But, to answer your question, of course we shouldn’t toss out the book whose complete title is The Revelation of Jesus Christ just to conform to someone’s shriveled misinterpretation of scriptures. Nor should we toss out Acts 18:9-10. Nor should we toss out Acts 9:5-6

…in fact, if we followed that twisted logic to its ultimate reductio ad absurdum, we would end up tossing out a big chunk of the New Testament since most of it was written by Paul.

If we recall the words that he spoke, I go to prepare a place for you and if I go, I will come again unto you. With that we know that he is preparing our mansions. When will he return. Just be ready. I blieve only when the account of Thes will he return for his church. But will there be other times, only God know that answer and he ain’t telling.

Maybe He IS telling, Rev? There’s a number of accounts in the (post-ascension) NT, as well as in church history and our modern day, of people seeing Jesus… and I’m not talking about bubble fairies like Bud Press fears… I’m talking about accounts like mine, where a person has a dream or vision of Him that leads them to a close walk with Him.
I would’ve said that I agreed with Bud to the extent that a visitation wouldn’t be PHYSICAL… except that I started reading Revelation yesterday (which is what led me to post on this subject)… and found this:
Revelation 1:17-18
And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.
Jesus TOUCHED John.

I read this account and I know that Revelation is the hardest book for alot of people to understand. Being an Apostle of that day its interesting. Like you, I have had visions and dreams about Jesus, but never in person. I believe also that when he comes in the air, thats going to be a glorious day to finally see him face to face

Hey Rev - it’s pretty interesting today too
There’s nothing that’s going to compare to seeing Him face to face - forever. Glory Be! I can’t wait!!
