Comments
I posted over on the HHH blog about comments, and thought I’d better do it here.
Comments are *generally* auto-approved after I manually approve your first comment to the blog. (The two blogs are totally separate - you need one manually approved post on HHH even if you’ve commented here forever - no way that I know of to change that and still be able to moderate new posters) Unfortunately, there’s a few people whose comments are never automatically approved, and I can’t figure out why.
I try to keep commentary on this blog a bit more civil. If you want to say something, try to find a way to express yourself civilly even if you radically disagree with someone/something. I reserve the right to IP ban anyone who abuses the comment system. Thus far, I’ve not had to even consider it, and am not considering it for anyone present - I just wanted to clearly state that so everyone’s aware there’s boundaries.
Because I do some writing for pay on this blog, and also because I write on controversial topics, it gets more than its fair share of spam. (of the same vile “enhancement” and “download this” and “Mr Mimbo died and left you a billion dollars” sort that you get in email). HOWEVER, once in a while a post - even from a “regular” gets caught by Akismet (WP’s spam filter). Why? Oddness, I guess. I found an older comment of Ron Larson’s stuck in there this morning, and approved it. All his other comments are auto-approved. So why that one? Wish I knew. Sorry, Ron!
On comments that need approving, I can take up to 24 hours - sometimes longer - to do so. Lately I’ve had LOTS of computer time but starting next week I’ll be working on a project that will keep me busy for a while, so I might be slower.
If your comment doesn’t show up within 24-48 hours (and I haven’t said that I’ll be out of town or something), OR if your comment is something that has to show up quickly for some reason (remember, it is a blog. Is it that important in the grand scheme of things? :D)… shoot me an email. If I still don’t respond, assume I’m out of town or something’s come up.
Thanks for your understanding!

I was attending Rivers of Living Water Church (a Kenneth Hagin Rhema church) in Virginia Beach, Va. when the Lakeland revival broke out. Local pastors began sending busloads of people to Florida and people excitingly brought back the “annointing” which they were told to impart by the laying on of hands to the entire congregation. I had a check in my spirit about the whole issue, refused the annointing and immediately moved my family to another church. Later, upon returning to talk to the pastor, (who was previously loving, gentle, patient and kind) I was mocked and told that I was error and should have stayed and prayed for him (the local pastor)and waited on God instead of moving my family (which included a son who is very new in the faith and skepical about Christians anyhow.) The pastor then informed me that he didn’t think I was “called” to his church. I said “I agree,” and a great weight lifted off my shoulders as I walked out. There was a “no talk rule” there that came under the guise of only speaking “faith.” It was more like denial and the Pharisees putting burdens on people they couldn’t carry. Having a spirit of discerment is nothing to be ashamed of and I believe in calling a spade a spade. I think we are living in a very deceptive time and it is time to wake up and speak up. Quite frankly, it was a pleasure to dust my feet from that self-righteous and religious facade. However, it was not easy to take the rebuke and ridicule of close friends and family in that church and several different churches and denominations who verbally chastised me for not sharing their excitement and jumping into the fire of the “new annointing.” I didn’t know anything about Bentley then and upon learning more about him and the revival I can truthfully say I have no regrets and I thank God for protecting my spirit and that of my family. The word says’ “My people perish for lack of knowlege.” In this case, people don’t know the word. God is still Holy and still on the throne. He won’t be mocked or unequally yoked. The word also says “even the very elect will be deceived.” I think we have just seen a preview of what is to come.

Aune, could I suggest that perhaps God caused you to feel that way, as a way to show you something not about TB&L, but about your pastor and church?
Any time a pastor is not willing to engage in dialogue about a situation, there’s a problem. People should be able to question their pastors. They don’t have to agree - tho one would expect that there’d be biblical basis for one’s actions.
And actually, that’s NOT what the BIble says about the elect. Here, look it up for yourself in any translation you like

People often confuse that verse. They neglect to read, or don’t understand, the “if it were possible” part…

Well, I consider that a good thing that came out of the TB revival. Aune, like Kathi said, your Pastor revealed a very unsavoury aspect of himself especially for a pastor. Im happy to hear you moved on - good for you

That’s great news, Aune - two for the price of one: away from the false stuff of Bentley AND Hagin. God is gracious
I hope you find a decent church for you and your family.
