Found Kayti a car!
Those who’ve been following the blog a while know the drama that’s unfolded due to Kayti being in a car wreck over the summer.
She worked a summer job in Maryland at a Christian day camp. It was hard work and we’re very proud of her! The last evening of camp, she carried several of the counselors to Wal-Mart so they could stock up on snacky things for their assorted travels home.
On the way back, a drunk driver ran a red light and she smacked into him. (and much drama ensued -he and his passenger went and hid in a ditch, the K-9 found them, they speak no English, the police aren’t allowed to ask about citizenship, the driver was held in jail for a while then released, the car belonged to a dealership that initially denied that they knew the guy…. and on, and on, and on)
The dealership’s insurance company finally paid off. They didn’t give us as much as we’d like, but it’s enough to get her another car. After much drama in the search for a decent vehicle, we finally found one for her.
It’s a Ford Taurus SHO car (super high output). Red, like she wanted. Yes - it’s got a big motor in it. But she’s a safe and responsible driver (Kayti, are you reading this? :D) and we know she won’t abuse it.
We’re supposed to go and pick it up this afternoon. I’ll try to upload some pix later!

From the tone of your post, is it safe to guess that Kayti and her passengers were not injured? That surely would have been the worst. Just at the end of the school year last year, 4 local HS girls, off campus for lunch were rammed head on by a guy that was later convicted of not only drunk driving, but being under the influence of some sort of drug treatment stuff. Forget what it was called, but when you’re an addict you take it to “wean” you from the “hard stuff”. Well, goes to show you that it doesn’t mix with alcohol.
