I’ve been reading about Cryo-Cell and C’elle for a while now. It’s a company that allows mothers (and even non-pregnant women) to harvest and store stem cells for potential future use.
Liberals often accuse conservatives of being behind the times – stem cell research (SCR) is “where it’s at”. Without a doubt! What liberals won’t tell you is that while there is a huge MORAL difference between embryonic SCR and SCR using other types of tissue, scientists are discovering that there is very little, if any, MEDICAL difference.
We have the opportunity to reap the full benefits of stem cells without murdering babies to do it! So why are scientists continuing to focus on embryonic research? Hmmm.
Not all scientists and bio-med companies are doing so. Cryo-Cell allows mothers to store their baby’s cord blood stem cells. These cells are known to treat over 75 diseases including leukemia, anemia, lymphoma, diabetes and cerebral palsy!
Women can also harvest stem cells from an unlikely source – their monthly cycle. (Men, sorry…)
With research being what it is, it might be five minutes or fifty years before usable technologies exist. By using these programs, families can be ready to fight disease… without compromising the life of the unborn.
