After torture chiropractors and PT this morning I felt like I needed to keep moving, so I made the rounds at a couple of thrift stores. Found a gorgeous red blouse and skirt and a shirt that says “Fearless” on it at Goodwill, then stopped at Mike’s.
Mike’s an interesting fellow. He opened the thrift store a ways back. I’ve never seen him do much business. The store is dark and there’s stuff piled up everywhere. If you poke through there’s some real treasures there.
He’ll minister to you while you’re there. Maybe that’s the whole point of his business. Ken and I think the world of him.
Anyway, I rummaged around in the store and was drawn back to the fabric (of which he has piles and piles). I found this purpley-blue fabric (pictured at left with Mr. Curious, The Cat) and immediately thought, “dance flag”. The material is what’s called “warfare fabric” – when you wave it, it ripples and makes noise.(Yes, it is crying out for an iron to be applied to it!!)
I went up to the register and asked how much. Mike wasn’t sure what it was, at first, so I told him that it’s a future dance flag (he and I have talked about worship dance before; his church is real big on that). He said, “Let there be light!”
At first I was like, “Huh?” then I realized that he was prophesying. He went on to say that when I said it was a future flag, he immediately thought about how God had created the world from nothing, that he spoke it into existence, and that I’d spoken that flag into existence. Let there be light!
So – I need to wash, dry, and iron the fabric. Then I’ll figure out how to hem it. I’ve got a large dowel that I *think* will fit it perfectly.
I really really need to go out and find my sewing machine. That’s what I really, really need to do. If I can figure out how to use it, I think I’m going to start making LOTS of flags (someday I’ll be able to use them at church – for right now, the driveway will have to do!).

I wish I had a flag to worship with right now!!
Listening to “The Revelation Song” from my myspace page LONGING to worship in dance and with a flag…
That is absolutely one of my favorite songs EVER. Think I’ll play it right now!
I’m delighted beyond words that iTunes is going DRM-free and I can convert all of my downloaded music to mp3 and dump it on my
cell phonemedia device that plays music and podcasts, takes pictures, texts, tweets, browses the web, and makes phone calls…You’re hilarious!
How was your worship time?
Hey, nice new layout! Thought I had the address wrong at first!
