This morning I woke up quite early. I’d intended to sleep in, but 6 came and I was laying in bed half-awake, half asleep. I was going to try to go back to sleep, because I’ve found that if I can wake up and then fall back to sleep for an hour or two, it’s usually some of the best sleep I get.
But in that half-awake, half dream state, my mind turned to something that it shouldn’t have turned to and for a few minutes I contemplated something that is sin. Then in the deep recesses of my mind I heard a word - “Desecration” (hey! I know that Voice!) - and still in that half-awake, half dream state I spoke to desecration and commanded it to leave me.
Instantly I was awake (and I mean six shots of espresso awake) and my contemplation of that sinful thing was gone. It was like it fell like a house of cards in the wind.
So I wandered into the kitchen (Ken was still asleep) and pondered what just happened. I’m fairly sure it wasn’t a dream. So I talked to God about it, told Him I was sorry for letting my mind wander, and I felt His forgiveness (which - going back to my post yesterday about discernment, I often “feel” things God’s doing as well). Then I talked to Him about a variety of other issues going on, and I felt (and still feel!!) His presence and His love in such a powerful, tangible, literal fashion that I’ve started weeping a couple of times and at times I can hardly type… but I wanted to share with all of you what He’s up to this morning around here… what’s He doing in your hearts and your worlds today?

A long time ago, I started to have a particular physical sensation when something of the Holy Spirit was happening. It’s subtle - not as forceful as my friend Frances has - she has a very intense physical sensation of discernment.
What I feel is very hard to describe - it’s holy fear and awe but more, but over time and with consistency I’ve come to know it as my “God is about” feeling. What I feel is subtle and I suppose could go un-noticed if I wasn’t paying attention. I never rely on “just” the “feeling” (I think that would be dangerous) but couple that with what the Bible and the Spirit actually say. (I can’t say that I’ve ever had the feeling when Scripture contradictions)
I also have a particular physical sensation when exposed to certain non-Christian teachings - occult, new age, JW, Mormon, etc. It’s almost like a cloud descends and it feels like something is trying to bend my brain. It’s an odd feeling, disturbing. (Likewise I can’t say I’ve ever had the feeling about something that’s actually God)
I’ve noticed over the last few weeks that I get that same cloud/bend sensation when I’m reading heresy-hunter stuff. I just happened upon a forum I figured would be pro-revival by its name. Some folks are, and some folks are rabidly anti-revival (not just Lakeland). Same sensation as I get when I’m around evil.
Just wanted to note it as something interesting.

Just made note of a headline on foxnews.com: “Reality Check - Newsweek reporter says that if Obama doesn’t win it proves America is racist”
I sincerely hope that America IS racist.
I’m not talking about skin color - though I should note that if anyone votes for Obama because he is black, or McCain because he is white, then they are racists. I would happily vote for an orange candidate with purple polka-dots, and hope everyone else would too.
Why do I say that I hope America is racist, then?
We must elect a candidate who cares about the human race…. who cares about life. (this really should be the most basic of qualifications for someone who wants to lead other human beings…)
Obama’s policies and proposals call for the wholesale slaughter of babies in the womb, infanticide of those few who survive abortion, euthanasia, pandering to terrorists, and the degradation of our culture.
McCain’s policies and proposals call for the protection of babies, children, disabled people, and the elderly, for dealing with terrorists expeditiously, and for the preservation of culture.
So - which candidate do you think America should elect? Will Americans be racist and care about the human race - or have we become the animals that the evolutionists claim we are?

And now for something completely different!
I was discussing alternative medicine with some friends earlier - specifically homeopathy and bach flower remedies. I know that some Christians have problems with lots of alternative medicine.
Personally, I exclude anything that involves “energies” - like the flower remedies, reiki, acupuncture, and the like - but things like homeopathy, herbal remedies, etc. I’m pretty much ok with.
I got to thinking that this might be a good discussion for here - since we’ve got a lot of people with varied backgrounds - and it’s also got NOTHING to do with the Lakeland Revival, Todd Bentley, heresy, or tornadoes!
So - what do you think? Maybe I should put a poll up, but I don’t have time right now.

OK, so I never thought of New Jersey as a place to take a vacation of any sort - let alone a family beach vacation. So I guess I only have ever seen the highway through the smelly parts of Jersey, and never equated that with places like “The Jersey Shore”.
I came across a link to New Jersey water parks, and discovered a place called Morey’s Piers and Beachfront Waterparks.
Ken and I have been watching this program - I think on History Channel - that features roller coasters and extreme rides - including water parks. We decided that the 10,000 foot straight down slides probably weren’t for us (hmmm. weight+gravity=not so sure about that!) but some of the other rides looked like lots of fun. So now we’re keen to go to a water park for a day - maybe this fall when it’s not so hot.
And it wouldn’t be too hot as far north as New Jersey, I guess!
Moreys has Magical Mondays and other specials throughout the week - and there’s apparently two parks to choose from with awesome looking slides and rides. For families they offer kids camp and such. THEY EVEN HAVE WIRELESS INTERNET — I guess if you can’t get away from the computer for a whole day and splash and play, you need to get a life!!
Well, if we’re ever up that way we’ll definitely stop in! Anyone have experience with either of these parks??
