The Divine Nature
…that through these (exceedingly great and precious promises we’ve been given) you may be partakers of the divine nature…
2 Peter 1:4
What does it mean to “partake”…? I looked it up in Strongs (you can and should as well) and it means “to partner with or share in”.
What is divine? It means “spoken of the one and only true God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit”.
What is nature? It means “the sum of innate properties and powers by which one person differs from others, the distinctive native peculiarities and natural characteristics of one.”
So what does it mean that we partake in the divine nature?
We partner with and share in the innate properties, powers, peculiarities and characteristics of the triunity of the Godhead.
Boom! That’s sonship!
