Figurative or Fulfilled?
“Yet many followers of Jesus Christ are satisfied with the simple promise of going to heaven instead of seeing that their destiny is to press in for encounters with the face of God and live in the corresponding increase of favor. They are satisfied with figurative promises, not fulfillment. To some people, this may seem like a strength, but it works against the very promises of God, which were given to us for our life on Earth as much as our life in heaven. In fact, God gave us His promises so that as we appropriate them, heaven could come to Earth. I’ll say it again: we can only live in the Kingdom, in our promised land, if we are willing to embrace the adventure of experiencing God as He is.
