Heaven’s increase

...and by His stripes we are healed. (Is. 53:5)

Heaven’s increase

Isaiah said of King Jesus,

“Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.” (9:7)

So here’s a couple of questions to consider:

If His government is always increasing, isn’t there always something in need of governance?

If peace is always increasing, isn’t there always something in need of peace?

If He’s reigning forever (and us with Him), isn’t there always something to reign over?

If His Kingdom is always increasing and expanding, where is it expanding and increasing into?

If it must be established and upheld forever, and justice and righteousness are necessary forces, what are they necessary for?

If He has zeal, what is there to be zealous over?

Kind of does away with our vision of heaven being everybody sitting around with harps on the clouds, all dressed alike and prevented from being bored by some force of God… doesn’t it?
